I am planning a trip for my family of 5 (kids ages 10, 8, 5) for early February 2015. Which value and moderate resorts will accommodate a family of this size? And, is there a refrigerator in the room? Thanks.

    Hi Sarah,

I also have a family of five and completely understand your situation.

Before I get into the room info, I'll let you know that all Disney resort hotel rooms come with a refrigerator as standard equipment. You'll have access to a fridge no matter where you stay.

Here are the value and moderate resort options for families of five:

    - You could get two rooms. There are connecting rooms available at all Disney hotels. This would allow you have more living space, more beds, and two bathrooms. Two value resort rooms might be less expensive than a deluxe room.
    - There are some rooms at the moderate Port Orleans Riverside resort which have two queen-sized beds and a pull-down Murphy bed suitable for a child. These allow up to five guests.
    - The moderate cabins at Fort Wilderness have a full-sized Murphy bed, a full-sized regular bed, and twin-sized bunk beds, and a full kitchen. These sleep up to six guests.
    - There are value family suites at the All Star Music and Art of Animation resorts. They have kitchenettes and two bathrooms. They have a queen-sized bed, a full-sized Murphy bed, and a full-sized pull-out couch. These sleep up to six guests.

Additionally, there are deluxe and Disney Vacation Club accommodations that will work for a family of five.

I have stayed in almost all of these room types. I prefer the family suites because we like having two bathrooms. The Port Orleans Riverside rooms are perhaps the most budget-friendly option.

I encourage you to play around in the "Places to Stay" tab on DisneyWorld.com. You can see photos of the resorts and get pricing for various dates.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We're happy to help.
