I am planning a trip for our family of 18 to include a day at Typhoon Lagoon. Definitely want to reserve cabanas as a home base, however I am finding conflicting info on adding additional guests. Is 6 the max or up to 10 with fee for over 6?

    Hi Amy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  We're so glad you stopped by with your question today.  Visiting Walt Disney World with tons of family and friends is my very favorite way to go.  I like to say, "the bigger the party, the bigger the party," and with 18 people in your group, you're definitely in for some serious fun!

The reserved cabanas at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, which are known as Beachcomber Shacks, are a great way to go.  You get a reserved area in the shade with cushioned seating, a personal locker, refillable drink mugs, towels, a Cast Member to assist you during the day, and a cooler stocked with ice and bottled water.  There is a set price for a full-day rental that covers up to 6 people.  You can add up to 4 additional people (for a maximum of 10 per Beachcomber Shack) for a per-person charge.  So, for your group, I'd make a reservation for 2 Beachcomber Shacks and let the Cast Member know that you'd like those to be near each other, if possible.  You can make that reservation up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY (939-7529).  Same-day rentals may also be available at the water park, depending on availability, but you may not want to take that chance if you're visiting during the summer months with a large group.

I hope that helps, Amy.  Wishing you pixie-dusted planning and please write back if we can help answer any other questions!
