Planning trip for family of 3. With discounts, offers and renting dvc points we could stay at Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge or a studio Villa at Wilderness for about the same price. Which is better for convenience to bus/food/pools while still private?

    Hi Amanda,

While I have never stayed at Fort Wilderness, I have visited the property and have friends who enjoyed their stay here. One suggestion if you are staying at Fort Wilderness is to rent a golf cart so you can travel easily to the store, restaurants and other fun areas at this resort.

Wilderness Lodge is one of the most amazing resorts at Disney World and it is my husband's favorite. You feel like you are in the Pacific Northwest and not central Florida. We have stayed in the villas, and it is really secluded here. You might even see some wildlife from your window.

The Wilderness Lodge does have restaurants for meals. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is my favorite restaurant. You take a boat to the Magic Kingdom. Other parks require you to take a bus.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
