We're planning a trip in the fall with my two kids (9 and 5 at the time). From looking at the attractions and parks, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios seem like the best bets. How many days would you recommend? I'm thinking 5 full days, but too much?

    Hi Luanne,

Your children are at great ages to visit the Walt Disney World Resorts! There are so many things to do and explore.

When you say five full days, I am going to mean you want to tour the parks for these days. With this in mind, you have more than enough time to do everything at Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. I would budget two days for Magic Kingdom and one day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. So what to do with the other two days?

I highly recommend starting your trip at Epcot. This is really two parks that combines science and culture for a great day or two of fun. In Future World, you can visit an aquarium, drive a car on a test track and soar over California just to start. There is also a way to go to Mars and journey through time to learn about history and energy. Once you finish exploring this part of the park, head towards World Showcase and explore the countries. You can ride a viking ship, tour China, France and Canada and join a night time party in Mexico. Plus you can be a secret agent with Agent P's World Showcase Adventure. Finally, end the evening with Illuminations fireworks.

Another day could have you at Disney's Animal Kingdom and a day with the animals. This park is a great place to see animals in a more natural setting. Kilimanjaro Safaris is a great way to see African animals up close and personal.

Whatever you decide, I encourage to spend only one day at each park so you can find the hidden gems in each.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
