Planning trip for end of October. Either staying at BW or new AoA. If we choose AoA and free dining is offered I know value resorts will get quick service for free but if we want the regular dining can we pay the difference or should we change to BW?Thanks

Hi Casey! October is a wonderful time of year to visit! The weather is beautiful, the crowds are light and best of all, the Art of Animation Resort (AOA) will be open to guests!

The Art of Animation Resort is going to be amazing! With over 1,000 suites designed after some of my favorite movies, like Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid, I can't wait to stay there!

You are correct, the Art of Animation Resort is a value resort, which means that if free dining is offered during that timeframe and if the plans still work as they do right now, then the dining plan offered will be the Quick Service Dining Plan.

You can definitely upgrade your Quick Service Disney Dining Plan (DDP) to the  regular Disney Dining Plan for an extra charge. We did this one year when we stayed at the All Star Movie Resort. We like to dine with the characters and experience the table-service locations, so we just upgraded our plan.

Between staying at AOA and upgrading your dining and staying at BoardWalk, personally, I'd stay at the new AOA (because it's brand new and beautifully themed) and upgrade my DDP.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with to help you plan your vacation in October! It is my absolutely pleasure to help!

    Magically,
    Stacy
