We are planning a trip end of Jan 2009. 180 days for reservations puts us at the end of July. There is a chance that the calendar for January might not be out, plus that we will not have our package booked. How can I book ADR without a reservation number

Traditionally the park calendars have been available six months in advance at the beginning of the month, giving you time to coordinate with the park calendar before you make you advance dining reservations. There was an issue with the calendar for this November coming out a bit later than expected. I'm hopeful that this won't happen again. If it does, just make your best guesses and know that you can call back and try to modify your reservations.

You do not need a package reservation number to make dining reservations 180 days in advance. When you call Disney Dining, you can just use your phone number as a reference on your reservation rather than package confirmation number. Again, if you'd like, you can always call back later to add your package number onto your dining reservations file, but this is not really necessary.
