Planning a trip in early October to celebrate my 79th birthday. What do you recommend? No kids this trip, all adults

Hey there, Jo Ann! This is a practically perfect way to celebrate a birthday - I love it!

I love traveling to Walt Disney World with my girls and my grandkids, but there's something really special about an adults-only visit. Go at your pace, eat what you want, see what you want, and no worries about little ones (and by little ones, sometimes I mean those 30-year-olds) keeping up with you.

Although dates haven't been released yet, my favorite grown-up thing to do should take place during your visit. The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is a fall favorite, with savories, sweets, and sips from six continents. You may find a favorite band playing at the Eat to the Beat concert series or enjoy a culinary demonstration. The cocktails are especially worthy of a birthday celebration.

Try a signature restaurant you might have on your must-do someday list. California Grill is a classic go-to for a special celebration meal. Located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, the restaurant features spectacular views and an observation deck for fireworks viewing.

Enjoy some over-21 fun with an after 8 PM visit to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This super popular lounge really pops after 8 PM, when it's an adults-only venue erupting with fun. Or you can take in the dueling pianos at Jellyrolls at Disney's Boardwalk.

The key to the success of this trip, Jo Ann, is to do what makes you happy. If it's a round of golf, a dessert cruise, or drinking around the "world" at EPCOT, it's your time to shine, friend! Go get your glitter on!
