    We are planning a trip in early Oct and would like to know which Moderate Resort would be best for our Family. We have 2 adults, 1 girl age 9, and 1 boy age 5. What would you recommend and why?

    What a great time of the year to visit, smaller crowds and great weather!

    My two favorite Moderate resorts are Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. They are both great family properties with a fun lively feel for the whole family. Both properties have newly refurbished rooms and are very comfortable and nicely decorated.

    Coronado has a great Southwestern feel to it and uses warm touches to add that Mexican themed flair. A great thing about this property, is that it is a large Convention Center also. This means that for a moderate property you will have a few extra amenities not found at the other moderate resorts, like limited  spa services, a health club and beauty salon. There is a great playground and "Dig area" for the kids and a large pool that sits next to a fun Mayan pyramid. The resort offers both table service and a great counter service option with the Pepper Market eatery.

    Caribbean Beach offers two styles of rooms, the Pirate option and Nemo. Both room styles are colorful and whimsical and the Pirate rooms have some awesome touches like the boat beds and plank style carpeting. The rooms are large and plenty comfortable for a family of four. The pool is recently remodeled and has a great slide area in the main pool and a fun interactive pirate ship in the zero entry pool that features squirting canons and small slides. I think your son and daughter will be on the lookout for Davy Jones before you know it.

    The Caribbean Beach is typically my first choice for two reasons, Coronado is a little more crowded if a large convention is on property and I often prefer avoiding the extra crowds, and we are a pirate loving family so it is hard to resist the great pirate rooms and pool area at the Caribbean Beach.
