We are planning a trip to DW in November, my son will be 3 years old at that time. We are unsure of a hotel, we were thinking of the Contemporary Resort for the close proximity to Magic Kingdom. Any suggestions/advise on this or other hotels? Thank you

Hi, Lisa!  If you are specifically looking for a deluxe resort with monorail access, the Contemporary is one of the three that you should consider.  The Contemporary Resort, however, always held my girls captive at about the age of three, because they could sit for hours and watch the monorail come and go!  If it was up to them, we almost never would have left the resort!

The pool area is kind of cool, too, because there is a futuristic play area for children.  They can run through fountains and little sprout type bursts of water, which lets them get wet and burn off some energy. You'll also have easy access to Chef Mickey's, one of the most popular character dining experiences at Walt Disney World.

The other two resorts you should consider are the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts.  Both have the same monorail access, but the theming is way different!  You'll be transported to a lush tropical paradise at the Polynesian resort, complete with a volcano pool.  The Grand Floridian is like a step in time back to a Victorian age, and, like at the other resorts, they usually have a variety of activities planned at the resort for children.  There is often an arts and craft project, games, story time, or even campfires at these resorts.  You just have to check at the front desk when you arrive to see what the schedule will be during your stay.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these resorts with kids, although I am particularly fond of the Polynesian.  All of them are conveniently located, beautifully themed, and great places to spend a vacation!
