    I am planning a trip to DW in late Oct and would like to book my hotels early. There are no AP discounts right now so far out so an AP now would not help. However, if there are AP discounts later after booking, can I purchase AP and will it be retroactive?

    Hi, Annie! Thank you so much for stopping by with your great question! There are so many great benefits to being a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder, but I do believe the room discounts are the most magical! Before choosing our Resort hotel each visit, I first check for an Annual Passholder Special Offer. You are correct, the ones for October have not been released yet. However, you never know when Fairy Godmother will give her magic wand a wave and, with a "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo," they'll magically appear!

    You are welcome to go ahead and book your choice of Walt Disney World Resort hotel for your vacation this fall. Keep an eye on the Special Offer page and, when you see a magical offer appear, you can certainly try to have it applied to your current reservation. Most reservations can be modified to include a Special Offer right within My Disney Experience. However, sometimes you may need to call the Annual Passholder Cast Members for a bit of assistance.

    You actually do not have to be a current Annual Passholder when you make your Resort hotel reservation or when you have the Special Offer applied to the reservation. You will just need to make sure it is active during that resort stay, as you will need to show your pass upon check-in. If you plan to activate it as soon as you get to the theme parks, no worries, as they will just ask that you stop back by the front desk sometime before you check out to show the pass.
