I am planning a trip to DW late Aug /early Sept, what can I expect weather wise? I know it will be hot/humid, what is your opinion? I am not used to very hot weather and have never been to Florida.

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Kim!  Congratulations on your first Walt Disney World vacation!  I have visited the "Most Magical Place on Earth" in early September on several occasions. The average high temperature for Orlando in August is traditionally in the low 90s and the average low temperature is typically is the low to mid 70s. The average high temperature for Orlando in September is traditionally in the upper 80s with the average low temperature in the low 70s. I honestly think you can expect the weather to be very comparable in late August and early September. As a Georgia resident myself, I can say from firsthand experience that it can be very hot and humid that time of year. With that being said, I definitely think with proper planning, you can still experience a magical vacation despite the warm temperatures. I would plan to arrive at the parks at opening and experience many of the most popular attractions early in the day. I would then recommend going back to your Disney Resort for a break or swim during the middle of the day when the temperatures are highest. There are many indoor attractions that you can experience throughout the day which will give you a break from the heat. You may also want to consider spending one day at a Disney Water Park which offers exciting water attractions and unique theming. My family has visited Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon many times and have created so many magical memories at both water parks! I hope this information helps!  Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Kim!
    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
