Hi Rachel! How exciting that you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World!
The good news about spring is that school's let out for spring break at various times throughout the months of March and April, so no one week is off limits. Typically the week prior to and after Easter are busier times because many schools are out one of those weeks. Easter is on April 8, 2012, so crowds may be heavier the last week of March and first week of April.
Personally, I've experienced lighter crowds the last week of February (excluding Presidents Day weekend,) the first week in March and the beginning of May (prior to Memorial Day.) Visiting a week or two before a big holiday, like Memorial Day, Presidents Day or Easter, is always a good choice for experiencing lighter crowds.
In regards to the best resort, there are so many wonderful options, it really depends on what you are looking for. Since you have three kids under the age of six, you may want to consider Port Orleans if you are looking for a Moderate Resort because you can request a trundle bed if you stay in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort. Your six-year-old could sleep in the murphy bed, which pulls out from under the TV, and your three-year-old twins could sleep in the other double bed.
If you are looking for a Deluxe resort, the Polynesian is a great choice because it is on the monorail line for both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Also the pools are beautiful and the theming is so much fun for adults and kids!
My kids also love the All Star Movies Resort because we are huge Toy Story fans. This value resort is a great price and you can even request a family suite for more room. You can check out availability and more information about the resorts on the
Disney World website.
No matter which resort you choose or when you visit, I know you will have a magical stay!
Magically,
Stacy
