We are planning a trip to disneyworld within 3 mo. I'm having a hard time getting restaurant reservations. Is it better to keep looking online, calling or waiting until we are there? I don't want to be wandering the park with tired kids looking for dinner.

    Hello, Amy!

One of the best things about planning a vacation on short notice is knowing that you won't have to wait very long to experience the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort! Your vacation is just around the corner, and I'm so very pleased to see that you are planning your dining options before you arrive.

Many popular dining locations fill up rather quickly, and other than the occasional cancellation, it can be difficult to find a table at the last minute. I have often had good luck with leaving a tab open in my web browser for each restaurant that I need to secure a reservation for. Throughout the day, I simply refresh the page and see if something becomes available. This has worked for me many times now, and has always been a nice surprise! I recommend checking back often online instead of calling, just because it is a much faster process.

If you are still unable to secure a dining reservation for a few of your family's special meals, I'd like to encourage you to look into some other options before you travel. There are many wonderfully-themed quick service dining options at all 4 theme parks that do not require reservations. My family and I really enjoy Pinocchio Village Haus, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, Restaurantosaurus, La Cantina de San Angel, and sampling foods from around the World Showcase at Epcot.

I hope you and your family have a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Amy! If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
