Hi ! we are planning our 1st trip to Disneyworld, we are there Oct 14th - 28th 2009. Where do we start? We are thinking that all-star sports (or one like it) would be about right for our budget. We have 2 adults and 2 kids ages 10 & 8.

Hi, Chris!  It really can be overwhelming when you start planning a Walt Disney World vacation, but knowing where you want to stay is a big decision out of the way!  Once you know that the All Star Sports - or one of the other value resorts - is within your budget, you can start looking into ticket options, packages, and the dining plan.

Things to think about for passes include whether or not you would like to be able to park hop, or if you want to be able to go to the water parks.  Then think about whether or not it is worth it to your family to include the dining plan.  For many families, this is a way to know that they have pre-paid for their meals and it is one less thing they need to worry about while on vacation.  For other families, the plan provides way more food than they would ever normally eat.

We like to plan park days as well, so we can think about where we would like to eat.  If there are dining experiences you do not want to miss, you should include specific plans for them.

If you haven't yet, order your vacation planning video at www.disneyworld.com and spend some time there browsing the attractions to get an idea of what things are not to be missed for your family.  And don't stress!  Planning should be half the fun!
