I am planning a trip to Disneys Aulani Resort in 2019 for me and my husband. Is it worth the extra points for a 1 bedroom villa or would a studio be fine for 2 people? Its our 20th wedding anniversary and we really want to enjoy this trip.

Hi, Crystal! What a magical way to spend a momentous anniversary. 20 years is a huge milestone, and I think a beach in Hawaii is the most perfect place to be to celebrate.

I love that being Disney Vacation Club members gives us the type of flexibility to choose an accommodation that best suits our needs. Sometimes, though, it can be a tough decision to make.

All of the rooms at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa are comfortable and beautifully appointed. I will say, though, that the 1-bedroom villas compared to the studios are nearly double the size. This is not to say that you need that much space, because you may not spend that much time in your room. However, when we booked a room for our daughter and son-in-law for their honeymoon a couple of years ago, we opted for the 1-bedroom. They were able to come back and put together a little wine and cheese snack each night with the full kitchen facilities, and after spending much of their days doing some sight seeing and hitting the beach, they liked having the separate space where one of them could watch a little tv while the other one got ready for dinner or took a nap. They also loved having the washer and dryer in the 1-bedroom. Not only did they wash their bathing suits after a day of surf and sand, but since they had to get right back to work when they returned from vacation, it was great to come home with all clean clothes and one less chore on the to-do list.

You can get spectacular views either way. I think ultimately, it comes down to how your perfect vacation looks when you dream about it.

Good luck making your decision, Crystal!
