Greetings, Adrian, and welcome to planDisney!
You have chosen a most spirited time to visit the
Disneyland Resort, but we’ll get to that in a moment. First, let’s address your ghostly inquiry!
I checked the
Daily Events Schedule, and unfortunately, the date for the
Haunted Mansion’s transformation into
Haunted Mansion Holiday has not yet been revealed. As you noted, Jack Skellington and his frightful festivities will take over on August 22nd, so we can expect the Grim Grinning Ghosts to take a brief hiatus a few weeks prior while they deck the halls (and tombs). However, for the most accurate and up-to-date information, I strongly recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog. After all, Madame Leota’s crystal ball can only reveal so much!
Now, if the Haunted Mansion is temporarily out of reach, don’t despair! There are still plenty of ghoulish delights to be found throughout the parks!
Pirates of the Caribbean is an excellent alternative, with its eerily atmospheric queue, ghostly apparitions, and a descent into darkened caverns filled with skeletons of pirates past before launching into a swashbuckling adventure. It’s a Disneyland classic for a reason!
For those seeking a more thrilling supernatural experience, head over to Disney California Adventure and step inside the Collector’s Fortress on
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The dimly lit corridors are filled with mysterious artifacts and eerie specimens, making for an unsettling prelude to the chaotic, gravity-defying escape. Q-Tip: Keep an eye out for an old friend from the Matterhorn, now displayed as one of Taneleer Tivan’s prized possessions!
And now, back to the big celebration! Your visit is perfectly timed for an event that will be positively to die for:
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration! Beginning May 16th, the parks will be brimming with bewitching entertainment and dazzling experiences. The
Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular will once again illuminate Sleeping Beauty Castle, casting enchanting spells of animation, music, and fireworks. Over on Main Street, U.S.A., the
Paint the Night parade will return, glowing with thousands of twinkling lights, almost as if 999 Happy Haunts were materializing along the parade route. Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure, Carthay Circle Theatre will conjure a special musical moment, and the
Better Together parade will return, featuring up to 30 Pixar Pals—including some rarely-seen spirits… er, characters! Just in time for summer,
World of Color Happiness! will debut, casting its own mesmerizing spell over Paradise Bay.
Adrian, if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to summon us again here at planDisney.
Hurry back!
