Scott from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We’re planning a trip to Disneyland in September. Getting single park per day tickets. Can we buy them now, and change the day for when our dates become available? I read that multi-day tickets you can change dates as needed. Don’t want them to expire.

Hello, Scott! Welcome to planDisney. A September visit to Disneyland is a wonderful idea, with slightly cooler temperatures, seasonal décor, and that early hint of fall magic beginning to settle in. I’m happy to walk you through how ticket dates, reservations, and expiration work so you can plan ahead with confidence and flexibility.

The short answer is yes! You can absolutely purchase your single-park-per-day tickets now and adjust your reservation date later, as long as the tickets have not been used to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Disneyland theme park reservations are flexible, which is especially helpful when you’re planning ahead and waiting for your preferred dates to become available.

If you need to modify a reservation, simply open the Disneyland app and tap the “+” symbol at the bottom of the screen. From there, select “Make or Modify Reservation.” This will open a web page where you can view current availability and change your park reservation date, provided there is availability for the new date you’d like. It’s a straightforward process and a nice bit of built-in pixie dust for planners.

Ticket expiration is often the biggest concern for Guests purchasing early, so this is where you can really breathe easy. Per the current Disneyland ticket terms and conditions, single-day theme park tickets purchased today are valid through December 30, 2027. That gives you plenty of time to finalize your plans without worrying about your ticket expiring before you’re able to use it. To confirm your exact expiration date, you can check your purchase confirmation email or look directly in the Disneyland app. Tap the three horizontal lines in the lower-right corner, select “Tickets and Passes,” and you’ll see your ticket displayed with the expiration date listed beneath the barcode. If you ever need assistance, a friendly Cast Member at the Tickets phone line is always happy to help.

Since you’re aiming for September, you’ll also be visiting during Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort, which typically begins in late August. You can expect festive touches like pumpkins lining Main Street, U.S.A., seasonal treats, and spooky overlays on select attractions. It’s a fantastic time to visit, whether you’re soaking in the atmosphere or snapping photos beneath glowing jack-o’-lanterns as the sun sets.

Scott, I hope this helps you feel comfortable purchasing your tickets now while keeping your plans flexible for later. If additional questions pop up as your Disneyland adventure takes shape, please visit us again here at planDisney. We’re always delighted to help you plan magical moments from start to finish.

    Wishing you a magical day!
