We are planning a trip to Disney World September 29-October 5th and would like to know if we should stay at Port Orleans Riverside or Coranado Springs. We are traveling with our 15 year old and our 1 year old and are having a hard time deciding.

I am a big fan of both resorts, though I often side with Coronado Springs. However for you I would easily lean towards Port Orleans Riverside. I think the resort has a bit more to do, especially for your teen.

The real clincher is the boat to Downtown Disney. Now I am not suggesting that you necessarily let your teen go their on their own, but it is a destination that might have more to interest him/her, including some fun stores and activities. I remember when I was a teen there was nothing worse than feeling trapped on vacation, and Downtown Disney can give him/her some of that freedom.

But even if your 15-year old stays at the resort, there is just a bit more to do that might keep him/her occupied and having fun. Since your 1-year old won't know either way, I think this is what helps make the decision for you.

By the way, I will be there at the same time! If you see me in the parks, you better say hi!

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a magical vacation!
