We are planning a trip to Disney World in May and are still working on the final details. Can I start booking our dining reservations on the Disney app even if I don’t have our final confirmation number yet? Thank you for your help!

    Hello Betsy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! One of my favorite things about planning a Walt Disney World vacation is booking our restaurant reservations. We love trying new restaurants and menu items, but there are always a few favorites that make their way onto our list every trip. We can never miss out on an 'Ohana dinner or a Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. From family favorites to adventurous new dining spots, there is truly something for everyone.

I am pleased to inform you that advance restaurant reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. One benefit of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is that the dining reservation window opens 180 days in advance for the entire length of your resort stay (up to 10 days), otherwise you have to wait for each day to open, 180 days in advance, one day at a time. Since you are planning your visit to Walt Disney World in May, your window to book restaurant reservations is already open!

If you haven’t already, I recommend that you download the My Disney Experience mobile app. You can easily make and modify dining reservations, view restaurant menus, and even place mobile orders at select quick-service restaurants. Since you will be arriving in May, I suggest you look out for the opening of the newest restaurant in Epcot: Space 220, a stellar culinary exploration featuring modern American cuisine. Space 220 looks like it will be an adventure and dining experience all rolled into one. It is slated to open this winter, so I am hoping to see restaurant reservations available for booking sometime in the near future.

I hope that you have a magical vacation in May and find yourself dining in some of Disney’s most delicious restaurants.
