Welcome to planDisney, Melissa! I recently visited
Walt Disney World Resort with a dear friend and her two-year-old granddaughter, and that was a magical experience. The little one was bright-eyed and curious about all the things, and Cinderella Castle glimmered just a little brighter when I saw it through her eyes. You are going to have a fantastic time with your Mouseketeer!
As you probably know, children under three do not need
Theme Park Tickets or
Theme Park Reservations, but you should include her in your headcount for all your dining reservations. Most
Character Meals are buffet or family style, and your granddaughter will typically not be charged for a meal at these experiences. If the restaurant has a menu, she will usually get her own drink and plate and be able to eat from your plate at no additional charge.
Melissa, there are many excellent options for dining with characters at Walt Disney World, but one of my favorites is lunch or dinner at
Tusker House Restaurant at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This buffet-style meal offers kid favorites like mini corn dogs, chicken legs, and macaroni and cheese. Adults can choose from chicken, shrimp, salmon, and more. Donald Duck is large and in charge at this venue, and he and his friends will stop by your table for photos and fun dressed in their safari gear.
I hope your visit in May is the stuff dreams are made of, Melissa! Please feel free to stop by planDisney anytime with questions. I'd love to help!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
