Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda! My daughter is 11 also, and just like your daughter, she adores special girls-only outings with my mom or my mother-in-law and me. Since you've got plenty of days to enjoy the parks at the Walt Disney World Resort, sneaking away for a special girls' event will make for some really special memories!
I highly recommend the
Afternoon Tea and the Grand Floridian. My daughter and I just treated my mother-in-law to this early birthday gift of afternoon tea at Disney when we were there, and it was simply the most magical experience ever. We got dressed up and relaxed while we were served from the fabulous tea selections and then enjoyed the lovely tiered trays of tea treats. My daughter felt like royalty as she enjoyed the little bite sized tea sandwiches, and my mother-in-law and I cherished the time together with her. We considered bringing the boys, but are glad we didn't because it made the afternoon more special that it was just us girls. We were enjoying ourselves so much that as we left, a table of two ladies waved us over and said that while they really enjoyed their tea themselves, they got even more pleasure out of watching how much my daughter was enjoying her experience. So sweet! Disney magic!
After your tea, the three of you can wander the beautiful lobby of the
Grand Floridian Resort and do a bit of shopping. If you're up for even more fun, hop onboard the monorail and take it for a loop around, stopping at the Contemporary Resort and the Polynesian Resort to do more browsing and shopping. Since Christmas decorations should be up by then, as well as the amazing gingerbread houses in each of their lobbies, it'll be an afternoon to remember, Amanda. Have a fantastic girls' day!
