We are planning a trip to Disney in Sept. (w/ 7 y/o boy) Origiinally we were going to stay at the Caribbean Beach and our travel agent recommended Coronado Springs instead. She thought that the Caribbean Beach was too large any recommendations? Thank You!

    Leslie,

I hate to disagree with your travel agent, but...I do! It's true that Caribbean Beach is a very large resort, but so is Coronado Springs. And while both are lovely in their own way, I think that Caribbean Beach has a more family-oriented feel to it. Coronado Springs is also home to a convention center, which attracts a good number of business travelers.

Caribbean Beach also happens to be our family favorite of all moderate resorts. It was recently completely renovated, with a fabulous pool area that now rivals those of the deluxe resorts. And the pirate-themed rooms are super cool! I am a mom to 3 daughters who love the pirate rooms, so I'd think your son would be especially happy there!

That said, honestly both resorts have their strong points, and I think you would enjoy either one. If your gut told you to pick Caribbean Beach, then I think you should go with that. The size is an advantage in some ways, allowing you the opportunity for a quiet walk along the lake to reflect on the memories of the day.

    Good luck!
