    We are planning a trip to Disney in mid October '12 and was wondering if they still have the normal nightly activities (fireworks and light parade) at Magic Kingdom during that time or if the Halloween party/parade takes their place.

    Hi Heather,

    On nights where the Magic Kingdom is hosting Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, there are no "regular" evening activities in the park.  The Party begins at 7:00 p.m. To remain in the park after 7:00, you must have a Party ticket.

    During the Party there are parades and fireworks, but these are uniquely Halloween themed. The Halloween parade is particularly outstanding. It starts off with a headless horseman trotting through the park and includes Disney characters in Halloween costume and even dancing Haunted Mansion gravediggers. It's a must-see event for me. 

    I hope you'll have a chance to see it.
