We are planning a trip to Disney Land/ California adventure as 2 separate family’s but we are going together. Can we purchase our tickets separately and make reservations for extra’s like character dining for the same times?

Hi there, Jessica, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for submitting your question to us and how exciting that you have such a large group coming to the Disneyland Resort together! A multi-family Holiday visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is surely going to put you all in a festive mood! It would be my pleasure to help you prepare for your trip.

I'm glad that you're planning in advance for your tickets and dining reservations. You may definitely purchase your tickets separately and later link them all together within the Disneyland Mobile App. Once they're all linked, you'll be able to access park reservations and book Lightning Lane reservations as a group.

Over at the Disneyland Resort, you don't need to have attached reservations in order to make dining reservations, even for character dining. So just have one member of your party make a dining reservation for the appropriate number of Guests and you should be all set. They'll need to use a credit card to hold the reservation which will be charged in case of a no-show. The same goes for Enchanting Extras like Guided Tours. Also, keep in mind that only the primary account holder (i.e., the individual who made the reservation) will see the reservation in their account. At this time, there is no way to share dining or Enchanting Extras reservations with another user in the App.

There are many exciting things happening right around your visit that I'd recommend. Tiana's Bayou Adventure will have just opened on November 15, 2024, so your group can be among the first to experience this new attraction! And the Disney Parks Blog reports that, beginning on November 19, 2024, Goofy will be celebrating the Holidays with a new seasonal menu at Goofy's Kitchen. It's one of my favorite restaurants and I love seeing all the characters during my meal there. Finally, if you happen to see a Mickey Gingerbread, don't pass it up! Trust me, you won't regret it.

Jessica, I hope this was helpful for you and I wish you the best as you plan your super fun vacation! Please let us know if we can be of further assistance because we'd love to hear from you again. Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
