I am planning a trip to Disney in Feb 2022. I know you can book reservations now but I really wanted the dining package also. If I book now and the dining packages reopen can I add it to my reservation?

Hi there, Jennifer! Greetings from everyone here at planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and asking your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

As Walt Disney World Resort continues to invite Guests back to experience the magic, there have been some important changes to keep in mind during future trips. All of these have been made with the safety of all Guests in mind and really make you feel comfortable throughout your visit! During upcoming visits, you can look forward to enhanced cleaning procedures across the property, temporary adjustments to promote physical distancing, and modified experiences to reduce contact. We found these changes to be very helpful during our own visits and felt a massive sense of relief regardless of where we went on property!

Currently, the Disney Dining Plans are unavailable during the initial reopening stages at Walt Disney World Resort. In the past, Guests have loved using this option to pre-pay for their meals during their vacations and reduce the stress of budgeting when it comes to food. Since they are unavailable currently, Guests will not be able to book them with any new reservations or vacation packages at this time. However, if they come available before your stay, you will most likely be able to add one of the Disney Dining Plans to your reservation with no problems! If this is the case, I would recommend reaching out to the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line to get some assistance with modifying your reservation!

Another option that my family often uses is Disney Gift Cards! Typically, we will create a budget ahead of time and only purchase the amount we plan to spend on Disney Gift Cards. This way, we know exactly how much we can spend throughout our visit and have a bit more accountability to adhere to this number!

I hope you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort next year! Be sure to stop back by with any other questions you may have in the meantime!
