We are planning a trip to Disney in April 2012 for our 5 yr old daughter. This is her first time ever & we want to surprise her. Already planning to have a surprise waiting for her at the room. Need ideas to announce to her at home that we are going

Hi Kristie, I love first trips! One of my favorite ways to announce a trip was done by Moms Panelist, Doug. He and his wife wrote a simple story to their daughters telling them they were going to Disney Word. It was so sweet! Some other options are a scavenger hunt leading to a plane ticket if you are flying or a map of Florida if you are driving. A puzzle you make from a local store which announces the trip is a good option as well. Does she have a favorite character? You could have the favorite character invite her to come see their house in Walt Disney World. One consideration is the timing of this. We surprised our daughters the day if the trip and they were unsettled by the news. Thinking back, they are planners and would have liked a day or two notice to get ready for the trip. Your daughter may like the spontaneity of the trip which stops the famous question, "How many days until Disney?" Wishing you a magical trip! Beth
