Hi! We are planning a trip in December. So excited! My question is: how long does it take the buses to get us back to our resort after park closing? Debating driving vs. bus. We have a two year to get to bed asap! 😊

    Hi there Julie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know you must be super excited to be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in December! Honestly, the travel time to your Disney Resort hotel can vary depending on where you will be staying and the distance from each park to that particular resort. Although many resorts offer dedicated bus service, a few resorts share bus transportation which could potentially affect the travel time to and from the parks.

My family visited two weeks ago and found that it took approximately 25 - 30 minutes to travel to Disney's BoardWalk Inn from Magic Kingdom Park after park closing. When using Disney's bus transportation following park closing, I have experienced travel times ranging between 20 and 40 minutes. We usually find it to be easier to drive to the parks with a little one. Our one exception is when traveling to Magic Kingdom Park. Because the parking for Magic Kingdom Park is located at the Transportation and Ticket Center and requires a transfer to the monorail or ferryboat, I find the bus to be the quickest route when visiting the iconic park. The other reason I preferred driving to Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios when my four children were little is that we often found ourselves needing to stand on a crowded bus with a sleepy toddler and a collapsed stroller which was quite challenging at the end of a long day.

I hope this information is helpful in making the best decision for your family. Please don't hesitate to visit us again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Julie!

    Happy Travels,
    Jodie
