    We are planning our trip for Dec 2010...always been a dream to see WDW decorated for Christmas! Is there a place on property to rent a car just for a day? Using ME for transfers and transportation on property, but would like to make one day trip. Help!

    Thanks for writing us, Heather!

    You are in for a special treat -- WDW during Christmas is especially magical!

    Regarding rental cars (which is a GREAT option for getting around to visit the resorts and see their Christmas decorations), yes you can rent cars at WDW.  For resort guests, the most convenient option is to go to the Car Care Center.  Here is some more info about this option from the Disney web site's Transportation FAQs page...

    "Alamo® Rent A Car, the Official Rental Car of Walt Disney World® Resort, is conveniently located at the Orlando International Airport and at the Car Care Center near the parking exit of the Magic Kingdom® Park. For Emerald Club customers, National Car Rental® is also located at the Car Care Center. Shuttle service to and from your location is provided seven days a week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Holiday hours may vary.) Shuttle service should be scheduled at least one hour in advance. Call (407) 824-3470 for shuttle service and reservations. "

    Other on-site options for rental cars include:
    * Dolphin resort, near Disney's Boardwalk area (Alamo and National)
    * Near Downtown Disney:
       - Buena Vista Palace (Alamo and National)
       - Hilton (Avis)
       - Doubletree Suites (Budget)
    * Shades of Green [open to military only] (Hertz)

    Hope that helps!
