Planning trip 3/31/12 - 4/5/12 with 2 DD 3 and 5. Will spend most of our time at Magic Kingdom. Where is best place to stay, not value but not most expensive either? Taking a Disney Cruise on 4/5/12 with work, can we get transportation from parks to cruise

    Hi David,

What a great vacation you have planned for next year! I love playing at the parks and then taking the Disney Cruise to relax.

Your daughters are little and will probably need a stroller or at least mine did at this age. While I understand you want to save money with the room, if you are going to tour mainly the Magic Kingdom, it might be worth staying closer to this park. The least expensive room close to here is at the Wilderness Lodge or the Polynesian. However, if these are still out of budget, I would recommend Port Orleans Riverside.

When considering a resort, look at travel time as well as your touring style. If you are going to go back daily to your room, the less travel time the better as ticket prices are the same no matter the resort. I recommend purchasing just a Magic Your Way base ticket with no other option for your family at this time. I would concentrate on one park a day and the money saved on tickets might be used to upgrade your room.

As for traveling to and from the parks to the cruise and then home after your cruise, you can use the transfers with Disney. However, I use Happy Limousine in Orlando. I found they are less expensive and you have more time in the parks then on a bus to the cruise. Plus, you can schedule an earlier pick up to arrive at the cruise terminal so you can enjoy the fun of the cruise sooner.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
