Planning trip #5 for 7 yo daughter (will be #1 for 20month old daughter!) for Oct'15 (5 days), staying at Contemp. Thoughts on Park Hopper and any dining suggestions? Would love to try some new places and maybe Hoop-Dee-Doo! Thanks!! :)

Hi, Amanda! Planning that very first trip for a new little one can be so excited, but so can planning trip number five, finding new and special things for your 7-year old to enjoy.

Park hopping can be a very personal choice, and when my girls were this young, we were not big park hoppers.  It can take up to an hour to get from one park to another, especially if you miss a bus by a minute or two or have to wait for the next monorail or boat.  You can lose quite a bit of time this way, and if you have tiny legs trying to keep up with you to get out of one park and into another, it can add to the end of the day exhaustion.  We find it easier to stick to one park, enjoy all of the attractions, and let the girls dilly dally if they see something they like.

If you are looking for fun dining experience, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is great fun. You'll find an old fashioned country style dinner of fried chicken and ribs, plus the great Vaudeville type show.  Another favorite of ours is Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It's a great interactive dining experience - and don't let the "whispering" part fool you. Loud kids - and loud servers - are what this place is all about. Character meals are always a good choice, and if you haven't tried them all, check out the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom to see Pooh and friends, or the breakfast at 'Ohana, where you are likely to find Lilo and Stitch.

I hope your fifth trip is just as exciting and wonderful as your very first!
