Hello. Planning a trip at the Contemporary in Aug 09. Not doing the dining plan as kids(3&8) are picky. Could you recommend some places to eat for breakfast and dinner with picky kids. Would like to do a character breakfast. Thanks. Karen

I always find that buffet-style meals work best for picky eaters. Buffets work for two reasons:

    - There are LOTS of choices. The child is able to take a tiny portion of something and if it doesn't work out, they can make another selection with little food waste.

    - The child can see what the food looks like before taking any. I have a picky eater in my family. I can't tell you how many disasters we've had when we've ordered something innocuous like pizza and it shows up with "evil green things" (a.k.a. yummy basil) on it. With a buffet, you avoid this potential pitfall.

There are a number of character buffets at WDW for both breakfast and dinner. Since there are so many food options at the buffets, I would make my choice of meal based mostly on the characters present at the meal and the location of the restaurant.

    Here are some options:

    - Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. Breakfast and dinner with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald.

    - Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. Breakfast with Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Mickey.

    - Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger.

    - 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Breakfast with Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. Dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the Step Mother and Step Sisters.

    - Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. Breakfast with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

I hope you and your children have a wonderful time at WDW.
