Hi, planning a trip for Christmas. What is the best week to go? Does DL do a Candlelight evening? What days do parades run? And do we need to look out for night the park closes early for events. How do we avoid these? Sorry so many questions. Jill

    Hi Jill!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There is nothing quite as magical as the holidays at Disneyland Resort and I'm happy to help y'all make the most out of your trip!

The best time to visit Disneyland Resort is Monday through Friday, the first two weeks of December. You'll find the lowest crowds, but the Resort will be in full-on Christmas mode! In the past Disneyland Park has had a Candlelight Processional just two nights during the season. Last year this was the first Saturday and Sunday evenings in December, but unfortunately full details for this have not been released yet for 2017. A Christmas Fantasy Parade will run daily from November 10th to January 7th so you will certainly be able to enjoy this during your visit. As your dates approach, you'll want to check the Disneyland Resort Calendar for specific information on entertainment times. I am not aware of any days that either park will be closing early, like they do for Mickey's Halloween Party, but specific park hours will also be reflected on the calendar soon! If you'd like more information on anything or for me to elaborate on one specific topic please come back and visit.

Please let us know if you have any other questions and I hope y'all have a very merry time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
