    Hello! I am planning a trip for my 4 children next yr. Although I am super excited I am looking for way to save money without sacrificing a really great experience for them. Does anyone have any answer to where I should cut corners and where I shouldn't?

    Hi, Dawn!  There are two things I think I always have some wiggle room.  With a family of six, you can book a family suite in a value resort, as opposed to two rooms or a villa at a more expensive resort.  We spend so little time in our hotel, it's not always a big deal to splurge on a deluxe room.  Art of Animation, a new resort at Walt Disney World, has gorgeous and affordable family suites.  They have a separate bedroom for the grown ups, three fold out options that will accommodate four others, plus two full bathrooms, a microwave, and a small fridge.

    The other place I can always find wiggle room is in the food budget.  I like to grab a quick breakfast in the room in the morning while everyone is getting dressed.  That saves me on eating a big breakfast out, but it also lets us hit the ground running when we get to a theme park.  I also carry juice pouches and snacks with me, so it cuts down on spending on snacks throughout the day.  I'll splurge on a nice sit down meal, once or twice during the vacation, but we often share some things at a table service restaurant.  

    You can also cut down on the number of days you spend in the theme park.  If you plan, for example, to visit for a week, maybe plan two days in the pools or a day to resort hop.  

    I hope this gives you some ideas on how to make things a bit more affordable!
