Hi, Katherine! The Cast Members in Bell Services are always some of the hardest workers I see at Walt Disney World Resort. They must live off pixie-dust because they seem to be in constant motion, flying around from one job to another! Storing and retrieving items, delivering parcels, and moving luggage from one place to another -some of those luggage items (okay, my luggage!) are really heavy!
Katherine, once you have your luggage and other items packed up on the day you check out of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, just call for Bell Services. They will be happy to come to your room to pick up your belongings, or if you prefer, you can take the items downstairs to their desk. Be sure to let them know that you will be checking in to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside the next day. They will write up a ticket for you - be sure to hang on to it! It usually takes several hours for the transfer to happen, but they will be at your new resort waiting on you the next day. As soon as you are able to get into your new room, just call Bell Services and let them know you had some items transferred over from a previous stay and they will ask for the code number printed on your ticket. A Bell Services Cast Member will be up with your luggage faster than you can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
I am sure you are very excited to not only head to The Most Magical Place on Earth but to also see your family! However, if you do want to try to extend out your stay at either resort so you do not have a gap day between, keep looking for availability at either resort. Guests' plans change all the time and you never know when an available night may show for either resort. You can either add the night online or by giving the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line a call. Thanks for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions!
