We are planning a trip to The Campsites at Fort Wilderness in November and we are super excited having missed last years. I received a text message about contact free check in. How does that work with the camp sites? Will we still be able to get a map?

Hi there, Hillary, and welcome back to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop back by and asking another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a family tradition for many different Guests for good reason! This resort allows Guests to experience all the magic that can be found in the great outdoors while sitting just minutes away from the
Magic Kingdom. The 750 acres of pine and cypress forests are also home to a variety of critters including rabbits, ducks, deer, and armadillos! Additionally, Guests can look forward to the major amenities Walt Disney World Resort is known for including engaging entertainment, relaxing pool areas, and delicious dining for the whole family!

Online Check-In is a great option to save time and help aid in social distancing efforts across Walt Disney World Resort. Guests can participate in Online Check-In at their Disney Resort hotel by logging into their My Disney Experience account either through their web browser or through the My Disney Experience app on their smart phone. You will need to provide a bit of information to complete the process and, once you are done, you will be able to completely skip the front desk upon arriving at your Disney Resort hotel! Fortunately, it works the exact same way with the campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You and your family will receive your campsite number and location as soon as it becomes available for your stay!

While using the Online Check-In feature is strongly encourage, you may also stop by the front desk to complete your check-in process or ask any additional questions you may have! This would also allow you to grab a physical map of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

If you do not require a physical map of your Disney Resort hotel, you can also access a version of this map from the My Disney Experience app on your smart phone! Personally, I find this much simpler and makes it less likely for me to lose my map during our adventures!

I hope you and your family have a phenomenal visit to Walt Disney World Resort this fall! Don’t hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit!
