Planning a trip for April/May 2015 for my family of,2 adults,4 kids,we have stayed at POP but wanting to experience another hotel need to go as budget friendly as possible,Is 2 connecting rooms cheaper than a family suite and how are the buses at allstar?

    Hi Stefani,

Great question! In general, two rooms are cheaper than a family suite. However, while Disney does everything possible to make sure the rooms are connected, there is no guarantee that this will happen. As long as you are okay with the possibility, this is the way to go.

One advantage to a family suite is the kitchenette that you do not get with two rooms. With a kitchenette, you can save additional money on food. You could order groceries from an online grocer like the Garden Grocer and order breakfast and snack items as well as drinks. This savings of eating in your room for one meal could off-set the price of the family suite vs two rooms. Whenever we have a kitchen or kitchenette, we do this. When the girls were smaller, we brought their lunch into the parks to save even more money.

The buses run frequently at the All Star Resorts and it is generally a short ride to most of the theme parks.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
