Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Crystal! How exciting that you are planning your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Your family is going to have a blast!
With kids that are teens (or almost teens!), there are many attractions at all four Theme Parks and both Water Parks that will be of interest to them. I have filtered this list of attractions for teens to give you some suggestions; you can further filter using the drop down menus at the top of the page. My own teens were excited to chime in with ideas of what they thought your family would enjoy best. Here are their recommendations:
Magic Kingdom Park: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Haunted Mansion, Happily Ever After
Epcot: Test Track, Soarin' Around the World, Mission: SPACE, Frozen Ever After
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (my personal fave!), Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the all-new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, It's Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, Festival of the Lion King, Avatar Flight of Passage
One of my kids' favorite things to do ever at Walt Disney World Resort is piloting Sea Raycer speedboats, available to rent at Resort Hotels with marinas. (You are welcome to visit even if you are not staying at a resort with a marina). Kids age 12 and up can drive the boats, and mine had the best time zipping around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.
There are so many things to see and do at Walt Disney World Resort, it would be impossible to do it all in one, or even several, trips. I recommend browsing the Walt Disney World website to get ideas for things to do, and also watching some vacation planning videos as well as videos from the Moms Panel. Of course, please come back to ask us any additional questions you may have. We are always happy to help.
Happy planning!
Anne Marie
