Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    Planning a trip 10/3 - 10/7 w/ 2 adults and 3 kids (4 & 2 y/o twins) @ Contemporary or Polynesian. Would a MYW Package be the most realistic? Does WDW usually offer discounts for fall deluxe resorts or can discounts be added to existing reservations?

    I wish I knew about possible discounts so I could give you the inside scoop! Unfortunately, I don't have any insider information to pass along. BUT - I can tell you that Disney is very good about applying a newly announced discount or promotion to an existing resort reservation or Magic Your Way package if room is available at the resort you've chosen. If for some reason discounted rooms are not available at that resort, then you will often be given the opportunity to change your reservation to take advantage of the deal.

    A great resource that I have used to find historical data on discounts (ie, did Disney offer any good deals during October 2010?) is MouseSavers. This website has a great chart of past promotions that can be found by searching for "historical discounts" on their site. This may give you an idea of what has occurred in the past. While this isn't a guarantee of 2011 discounts, its a great planning resource.

    Since you are traveling with three young children who may require naps (or at least breaks) in the afternoons, I think your choice of the Polynesian or Contemporary is perfect! They are super easy to get to from the Magic Kingdom where you might be spending a lot of your time.

    And, since you require park tickets, the easiest way to do so is to simply book them with your hotel stay via the Magic Your Way package.
