Sue,
Thanks for writing us at planDisney!
I am so excited for you. That iconic family trip can be so much fun, and memorable!
Disney does not send out park maps or other planning information like DVDs any longer, but what they do offer is a wide array of online tools to help with the planning process. Our group of friends at planDisney is just one of many!
That may not be the answer you were looking for, but these tools can help. For a real starting point, visit the
Vacation Planning page. It captures the core planning topics that most of us find challenging.
Your next stop is to use the
My Disney Experience system as your 'home base' for your planning. As you discover what you want to do, you can start logging it all in there. Of course when you are finally immersed in the magic at the Walt Disney World resort, the
My Disney Experience App puts all that information and planning right at your fingertips.
Finally, you mentioned discounts. If you visit the
Special Offers page, it will show you most, if not all the active discount programs. That is an important place to visit as well.
But getting back to the printed planning materials request. I love to print out the current park maps, so we can spread them out and start planning as a family. The fastest and easiest way to get them is to print them out from the website. You can find printable versions of the actual in-park maps for the
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park by clicking on the guide map link at the bottom of the respective web pages for each park.
BONUS TIPPrintable maps are also available for
Disney Springs, and the two water parks,
Disney's Blizzard Beach and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.
So that should get you started. But if you just
write me back directly, I am glad to handle any follow-up questions, and help you get started with planning. I love to help people pick their resort, plan their park visits, and find those memorable dining experiences!
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
