We're planning to come thanksgiving week of 2011, we have 3, 6, 13, and 16 year old. We want to stay in walking distance but it's just so much to do/so much info, I don't know where to begin. My 3yr old constantly asks to go to the Mickey mouse castle.

Hi, Danielle!  It's tough to stay within walking distance of everything, but if you are looking to be able to walk into the Magic Kingdom, your best bet is probably going to be Bay Lake Tower.  Located next to the Contemporary Resort, you can walk right into the Magic Kingdom in a matter of minutes from this location via a path that goes in front of the resort.  Bay Lake Tower also gives you monorail access by walking across a short enclosed bridge into the Contemporary Resort.

If you want to be within walking distance to EPCOT, check out the Boardwalk Villas or the Beach Club Villas, either of which will have you in EPCOT's World Showcase in about 10 minutes.  The Beach Club also has an awesome pool area, which may be of great interest to the children!

The locations I've suggested are all Disney Vacation Club villas properties, with rooms that will accommodate your larger family.  They also offer the benefit of a full kitchen and a washer and dryer.

Walt Disney World provides complementary transportation throughout the theme parks and resort area, so you really could choose any hotel and know that you can get where you want to go on Walt Disney World property.  They have buses, monorails, and boats as convenient forms of transportation around property.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
