I am planning on taking my Granddaughter for her first Disney trip in March 2021! Since the park hours are currently abbreviated, I am very time conscious. What is the earliest time the ferry leaves the transportation station to go to Magic Kingdom?

Hi there, Dottie! Welcome back to planDisney and hello from a fellow Colorado resident! Thank you for taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

I am so excited for you to be planning your granddaughter’s first visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! It is such a treat to accompany a first time Guest as they experience all the wonder and fun Walt Disney World Resort has to offer!

Disney transportation is a complimentary service provided to all Guests and can include bus transportation, monorail transportation, Disney Skyliner Transportation, and water transportation. Each of these options provides a fast and efficient way of reaching your destination while also adding a dash of magic along the way!

The ferry boats are a part of water transportation and transport Guests across Seven Seas Lagoon from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom. Typically, ferries will begin operating approximately 30 minutes prior to the day’s park opening time. For example, if Magic Kingdom opens up at 9:00 am then the ferries should begin running at around 8:30 am. This should give you and your granddaughter sufficient time to arrive at the Magic Kingdom while also enjoying a quick, breezy boat ride!

An alternative to water transportation would be to take the Walt Disney World Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom. Monorails also begin operating approximately 30 minutes prior to park opening and are a great option if the ferries look a bit crowded!

Regardless of which transportation route you choose, I’m sure you and your granddaughter will have a spectacular time creating memories at the Magic Kingdom! Best of luck continuing to plan your visit and be sure to stop back by if we can assist with anything else!
