Hi, I am planning on surprising my mother with reservations at Victoria & Albert's. Do I have to prepay & does it include tax & gratuities? What are the times available to dine? Is it worth paying extra 4 the Queen's room or chef's table &

    Hi Elizabeth,

I've eaten at Victoria & Albert's 9 times, including visit to the Chef's Table and the Queen Victoria room. Each and every time has been a magnificent experience. It's really the best food I've had in my life. This will be an incredible treat for your mother!

In a somewhat reverse situation, I am now holding a gift reservation at V&As for my daughter and several friends as a graduation gift. We made the reservation and then called V&As directly to arrange the details of the gift. You can reach them at (407) 939-3862. In our case, we are giving them a credit card number and instructions to add specific percentage as a tip. The V&As price does not include tax or gratuity, there is an additional charge for these items. Additionally, there is the possibility to include wine or other adult beverages and there are a few menu items available for a surcharge. For example, guests can add a caviar course or Waygu beef to their meal for an added fee. When you make the arrangements with V&As, discuss whether you'd like to make these options available to your mom.

Seating time vary considerably depending on the date you're choosing. Some nights have one seating in the main room, other nights there are two seatings. Again, discuss the options with the restaurant directly.

For a first time visitor to V&As, I'd suggest going with the main dining room. There is only one Chef's Table each night and only four Queen Victoria tables each night, so these reservations are much harder to obtain. The Chef's Table is FABULOUS, but a first time guest here would lose out on the first impression of the restaurant's elegant atmosphere, which I think is important. The Queen Victoria meal may take 45 minutes to an hour longer than the main dining room meal. The food is extraordinary, but if you're not prepared, it can be overwhelming.

I happy to provide more help. Just let me know what you need.
