We are planning on surprising our kids with our first Disneyworld trip in the summer of 2018, how could we go about paying for that trip throughout the year and how much do you think it would cost for a family of five

    Hiya Eddie!

I absolutely love getting to help Guests that will be visiting and experiencing all the magic that Walt Disney World has to offer for the first time! Your kiddos are going to be so excited about this magical surprise!

There are two different types of reservations you can make when visiting Walt Disney World. Your first option is a Room Only Reservation which requires the reservation to be paid in full when it's booked. Your other option is a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, which includes your hotel room, theme park tickets and potentially the Disney Dining Plan, if you are interested, it is not required. When you book a Magic Your Way Package, a $200 deposit is required to hold your reservation and the balance must be paid 30 days prior to arrival. From the time you initially book, to the 30 days before your arrival you can make payments as you wish. If you'd like to pay down your balance by paying $200 a month, that'd be a great idea! If you'd like to pay a little bit every other month or leave the entire balance to be paid on the 30 day mark, you can do whatever works best for your family!

When estimating a cost for your vacation there are so many factors to consider, like what hotel type would you like to stay at, what week in the summer and how many days you'd like to spend in the park. I'd estimate for a 4 night stay, with 4 days in the park, prices will start at about $500 per person for the entire package. You'll also want to consider spending money for food and souvenirs in the parks. If you visit the Walt Disney World homepage, you'll see it's very user friendly and easy to play around with options. You can truly find a vacation that works for almost every budget!
