I am planning a surprise trip for my adult kids. They both have Disney Experience app and they look at it often. How can I surprise them without them knowing? Don't I have to link their tickets and magic bands to their account? Thank you for your help.

Hello, Allison! Thank you so much for sending in your question to planDisney!

It's fun to plan a surprise trip to Walt Disney World Resort! Even though your kids are adults, I can imagine the look of surprise and happiness on their faces when you do the big reveal! Many guests like to wrap up MagicBands or Mickey ears and put them under the Christmas tree.

Assuming you'll be traveling with them, the option I would suggest is to create a new My Disney Experience account using a different email - this way; only you will see it, and then instead of Inviting them to connect to you, create a "managed guest" in your Family & Friends list. (A managed account is not associated with their email - just like you would for a child). It won't be connected to anyone, so only you will see the plans. Then you can proceed with purchasing theme park tickets and making park reservations.

Make sure you use the new email address when making your Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations (and any other reservations), so nothing goes to the original account. After the trip (or right before your arrival), you can call in and ask a Cast Member to merge the new version into your old account, so you will return to having only one. The phone number for the Internet Help Desk is (407) 939-4357.

If I could make one more suggestion, I think your family would enjoy the Candlelight Processional, which runs through December 30, 2022. It is a beautiful retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator. Dining Packages go on sale beginning October 6, and you can secure your spot for this limited-time experience by booking online. There are several restaurants and price points to choose from; my family dined at the Biergarten Restaurant last year, and we had a great experience. After dining, guests receive a badge that allows them to sit in a preferred area of the America Gardens Theatre.

I hope this helps, Allison! If you need anything else, remember that the planDisney Panel is all ears!
