I am planning a surprise College Graduation present for my 21 year old daughter ....a trip Hilton Head. Will she be able to check in without me being with her?

    Welcome Home, Lisa!

What a wonderful graduation gift for your daughter! This question touched my heart because when I graduated from college more than 20 years ago, my gift from my mom was a vacation. We had a budget, and I could choose anywhere within that budget for us to visit. We talked about Paris or London, but I’ll give you one guess as to where mom and I went! We had a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and that trip is one of my favorite memories with my mom. I think after the hard work of finishing college, a vacation is a perfect gift!

As long as your daughter’s name is listed on the reservation, she shouldn’t have any issues checking-in to the resort, regardless of if you are going or not going on the trip with her. Do know, that as she is your daughter she is not technically a Disney Vacation Club Member, and so she won’t be able to utilize your Membership for discounts or special offers. For that, she would need you to be there. But she would be considered your adult guest, and can certainly check-in and stay without you.

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is a beautiful location to relax and unwind. With outdoor activities, miles of beaches to enjoy, as well as a pool, your daughter is sure to enjoy her time away. I hope she has a lovely stay and I wish her congratulations on her upcoming graduation!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
