Hi Jennifer!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I actually reached out to a
previous Canadian panelist, Trish, to make sure to get you a correct answer straight from a fellow Canuck!
You have two different options when purchasing
Disney Gift Cards from Canada. If you purchase them from a local Canadian Disney Store or store that sells Disney Gift Cards, your value will be in Canadian dollars. If you purchase them online your value will be in United States dollars. Either way you'll be able to use them anywhere that Disney Gift Cards are accepted. If you purchase in Canadian dollars and use them at
Disneyland Resort, an automatic conversion will take place on the funds. There is no additional fee and the rate used is the previous day market close exchange rate. If you plan on using them mostly at
The Happiest Place on Earth, I would recommend purchasing them in US dollars just for simplicity of knowing your balance!
Either way, make sure to register your Disney Gift Cards online using your Disney account. This allows you to track your balance, review charges and even combine cards if necessary. I hope this helps in planning your upcoming visit! Please come back if you have any questions before your Christmas visit!
