Hey Howdy Hey David,
It is great to see you back at planDisney again! I have to admit, I am a little jealous as
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of the few Walt Disney World resorts we have yet to stay at. I am suddenly dreaming of an early morning cup of coffee on one of those waterfront cabin porches. Hmmm, it just may be time to start planning our next
Walt Disney World Resort getaway.
We have been lucky enough to spend a number of trips at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge however, so I am very familiar with this rustic masterpiece tucked back against Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. The grand stone fireplace, high wood beams and of course the delicious smells wafting from
Whispering Canyon Cafe are quite memorable! One of the many things we have enjoyed during our stays here is use of
Disney's complimentary resort transportation to the theme parks and
Disney Springs. And while the buses are great, our favorite mode of transportation are the
water taxis. There is just something about a boat ride to start and end your Disney day that makes it even more magical.
While the water transportation (blue flag) is not currently running from Disney's Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness, you can take the red flag water taxi from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom Park. No worries though - once at Magic Kingdom Park, it is either a short walk from where the water taxi drops you off, down the path to Contemporary Resort, or you can hop on the monorail and take it one stop over to the Contemporary Resort. It is always possible that the blue flag water taxi may begin running again, so be sure to ask the Cast Member when you arrive or keep an eye out down at the dock for a sign indicating the additional water taxi is back on the water. Either way, you should have no problem making your way to the Contemporary Resort.
It sounds like you might be heading over to
Chef Mickey's to visit the "Main Mouse" himself. Give him a hug for me and don't forget to
stop back and see me if you need any additional planning help.
Hope to see ya real soon,
Margaret
