    Planning a return visit to AoA in August, but have always wanted to try the FW cabins. Traveling with my husband, mom & kids (4 & 6). Are heat and bugs more of an issue at FW in August? Will the 5 of us fit into the golf carts that "seat 4

    Hi Kelly,

    Fort Wilderness Cabins are a fun place to vacation! There is so many extras at this resort that families make it a tradition to stay here regularly.

    Since you are in a more rustic setting, you may experience more bugs. However, I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge which is in the same location in August and not thought it was any bugger than other resorts. For the heat, you are covered by pines which should make it cooler. Your cabin will have air conditioning so no need to worry about the inside of the cabin.

    As for the golf cart, you should be fine with all four of you on the cart especially because your children are little.
