Hi Tonia, and welcome to planDisney! What a fun family gathering you have in store! Let’s take a look at some options that can accommodate your large group and even some ways you may be able to benefit from a military discount.
With a group of 9-10 people, you’ll need to decide whether you want everyone in one place or if you are willing to separate the group into two separate rooms or suites. Your primary option to accommodate everyone in one place is a Grand Villa at one of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts. These are absolutely exceptional accommodations and will give you maximum space. Grand Villas typically include multiple bedrooms, a full kitchen, spacious living room and dining areas, and even a washer and dryer. These amenities would certainly come in handy for a large group! The Walt Disney World Resort hotels with Grand Villas include Disney’s Copper Creek Villas, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. If you want a dream-come-true vacation for the whole family, the Grand Villas are some of the finest and most spacious accommodations available!
If more traditional rooms are what you have in mind, I recommend two family suites. These are located at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Family suites comfortably sleep up to six Guests. You may even be able to get two suites close together; however, this is not a guarantee. Just put in the request on your room reservation, and the Cast Members will do their best to fulfill that wish. The added bonus to booking two suites is you may qualify for a military discount.
The Disney Military Salute includes room offers, and you may be able to save up to 20% at both of these resorts, based upon dates and availability. The eligible service member (or spouse) must be listed on the reservation and show a valid military ID at check-in. Of these two resorts, my pick would be Art of Animation because it is located on the
Disney Skyliner, which gives you added convenience for your whole group to travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
Tonia, I hope this helps you get started in choosing your resort hotel for this amazing family getaway! I see that you have more questions in mind, so just
send them my way. I would be delighted to help you plan a trip that is “practically perfect in every way!”
With faith, trust, & pixie dust,
Casey
