Ahoy, Diane! Welcome back to planDisney! We’re so glad you cruised by with another great question.
It sounds like you’re planning the ultimate land and sea vacation. It's my favorite kind of getaway! I’m actually about to head out on one myself, so I’m especially excited to help you with your plans.
Since your kids haven’t visited the Walt Disney World theme parks since they were toddlers, I recommend spending your park day at
Magic Kingdom Park. There’s just something timeless and magical about walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and seeing Cinderella Castle come into view. With so many classic attractions to experience, and likely beautiful spring weather, it’s the perfect place to kick off your vacation. By March, you might also get to enjoy the new nighttime parade, Disney
Starlight: Dream the Night Away, which promises to be a stunning finale to your day.
If you’re considering another option,
EPCOT would be a great runner-up. Kids at that age often love the mix of cultures in the World Showcase and the hands-on fun in attractions like Spaceship Earth. Plus, thrill-seekers will love
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
Now let’s talk transportation! While Disney no longer offers the Magical Express service from Orlando International Airport (MCO), Mears Connect provides a similar shuttle for a fee. You can book directly at https://www.mearsconnect.com, and many Guests also consider rideshare or private car services depending on what works best for their schedule and budget.
To get to Port Canaveral for your Disney Cruise, Disney Cruise Line ground transportation is a super convenient option, especially since you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel. If you book this service, Disney will pick up your luggage right from your resort room on the morning of your cruise and transport it directly to the ship. You’ll also likely be assigned an earlier Port Arrival Time, which can be a great perk for boarding.
The current cost is $45 per person, each way, for Guests ages 3 and up (please note that prices are subject to change at any time). You can add this option through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app under your reservation or visit the
Disney Cruise Line website under “Already Booked” > “Ground Transportation.” If you only need a one-way transfer, you’ll need to
call Disney directly, as the online system defaults to round-trip bookings.
I hope this helps you feel even more excited and prepared, Diane! We’d love to help again as you get closer to your magical March adventure. Don’t hesitate to stop by with more questions.
Wishing you sunshine, smooth sailing, and plenty of Disney magic,
Eean
